What kind of taxes should you expect to pay for the sale of a portion of your business?

This was an existing business which you came in and were given a share to help it grow. You received no pay while growing the business.

You can expect to pay taxes on the profit from the sale of the business. In your case, the shares were given to you, so whatever you receive will be profit. If this is only a few hundred dollars, pay the taxes on it, and move on. If it’s a significant sum, be sure to get professional help. There may be legal ways for you to avoid taxes on at least a portion of the profit. I suggest a good CPA and more particularly, one who is familiar with the type of business which was sold. In most cases, your having received no salary will have no bearing on the taxes due from the proceeds of the sale. But again, be sure to obtain professional help. I have a small amount of knowledge, but I’m not a tax expert.

How would you go about starting, publishing and distributing a niche magazine in Australia?

The niche market im talking about it the comic/manga industry. The magazine based on exerpts of chapters of manga done by australian artists, for national distribution and eventually international (main target Japan). I have $10,000 for startup

Consider the number of people who are interested in manga.
Check Licensing Requirements for characters and story lines.
Design the Magazine, Layout, Typeface, Number of pages etc
Advertising and Promotion:Promote the magazine and try to generate some buzz, contact magazine publishers that might be interested in investing in your company and distributing it.

Just keep in mind that magazine publishing is a high risk business and many magazines fold within a year of the first issue.GOOD LUCK.

whenever a new technology is introduced , masses are tend to write it off.

But later the same masses start buying it. Before launch, majority of people was thinking iPad would not be a success but 450,000 unit sold in first week which a groundbreaking figures for a tablet or net book.

The way its marketed and positioned, it seems that it’s going to be a multiple purpose device which will be in everybody’s hand like iPod. But since it’s so portable it won’t be that common but it’s already more popular than every single net book .

IPad is going to change the way we have been computing ad this is just the beginning of a new era.

I have already changed my way of creating PowerPoint presentation and word document.I find it much easier and faster on iPad.

People who thinks it’s bigger iPod touch , are ignorant and don’t know that iPad has already invaded business industry in big way.iPad is revolutionizing the cloud technology and gone are the days when people store all the documents on device. Now with easy access to webdev server access on iPad everything will be stored on cloud which can be accessed from anywhere.

Big software giants like intuit,SAP Oracle have developed apps for iPad and many others are following the suit.

Many professionals have already started giving presentation on iPad.

So it’s positioned for mass market. But only professionals and students will get it.

Recent surveys says every 15th student of Cornell University carry an iPad.

Seton Hill University giving away iPad to every student.

University of Harvard, Chicago have developed apps for iPad and very soon Harvard is going to offer iPad to students.

I have several suggestions..DO NOT DO SURVEY SITES. Most of them are scams and the ones that aren’t won’t make you much at all. Go to surveypolice.com It is a great site for telling what survey sites are legit and which ones aren’t.

But really I suggest you do GPT sites instead.. I found a blog
http://101newwaystomakemoneyonline.blogs… that I have found really useful for determining the best gpt sites and stuff like that. It is brand new but already has 59 followers, including me. This guy writing the blog really know what he’s talking about. With Gpt sites you really make alot more money then survey sites, even though they are very similar. I hope this helps as i have been down this road before and I am finally satisfied where I am now, making about $20 an hour. However you run out of offers after a while so now I’m down to about an hour or 2 a day…

How to work online at home?

I am looking to earn some additional money. I am
specifically interested in the "work-at-home" programs which are all
over the internet. However, many of these programs are scams or
charge money for reports that don’t even guarantee jobs. I am looking
to perform data entry, act as a typist, stuff envelopes, or do any
other related activity. I have excellent computer skills and access
to the internet. The job I am looking for must fulfill the following
requirements:
1) No "in-house" training can be required. Training over the internet
is perfectly acceptable, but I do not want to have to leave home.
2) I must not have to sell anything to anyone.
3) I must not have to refer people on the internet to the program, or
post ads on the internet or elsewhere.
4) I can be paid per hour or per document/page/report/etc, through the
latter is preferable.
5) I can be paid by check,or direct deposit
6) I must not have to pay a fee to apply for the job UNLESS the post
position is guaranteed.
7) The Program has the availability to work world wide not only inside US and Canada.

I simply want to work as a typist or other clerical position. I have
no prior experience in this matter, however I am intelligent and can
learn extremely quickly.

I am also not looking for sites such as Jobs.com, Monster.com, etc, that allow me to post my resume and allow employers to search for me.
