People are bombarded by offers. Make sure you give them the headline about why yours is special and stands out. If it doesnt, time to re-evaluate business model.

Difficult to answer without knowing the type of business.

Is it a retail store? Diversify your product lines OR focus all your energies on a under-serviced field. Expand in to an online presence.

Is it a service company? Usually advertising. Offer coupons for repeat business. Offer discounts for referrals.

It just depends on what your company is.

Depends on the kind of business. I manage a bookstore and the way I strive to increase business is to make sure everyone knows my particular location exists and that they know of the services we offer, such as ordering whatever they want and offering corporate discounts. And I don’t mean just talking to customers, but actually visiting new businesses or sending out flyers.
Customer service is another key piece of growth, because business spreads through word of mouth, and people will share even more quickly a negative experience.
