I am attempting to find a product or products to sell.
Runner1,
I apologize. I do not understand the question fully. Are you trying to decide on a niche for yourself or are you trying to locate or find out how to position yourself in a certain niche. I will check on additions made to your post and edit my answer accordingly.
BEST WISHES!
I am starting a blog and eventually a website
By the way. How can i send a person a direct message on this website?
I Agree, you need to find a niche that will be something that you are at the very least interested in, so that you can be motivated to find out more about it. You don’t need to be an expert about the topic, just be interested in it and be willing to find out more about it and share your findings and your thoughts with other people.
That being said.
You need to find a topic that has a market that is hungry for the information you want to provide. For example, It doesnt matter how passionate you are about belly button lint, if no one else is interested in it or worse yet willing to pay for information, services or products related to belly button lint. Does that make sense?
So you need to find topics that people are actively searching for and that there are already products being marketed to those people.
If you need help coming up with topics here is a great article on how to uncover the hidden assets in your mind.

Once you have the list you can do some keyword searching to find out how popular your topics are.
I would also start doing searches for problems related to your topic that you can answer for people.
remember when people search online they are looking for answers to problems. So you should be looking for problems that you can answer.
keep collecting the questions you find and eventually you will stumble upon a great product/service.
Check out amazon.com and see the products they have listed there that relate to your topic. Check out the magazine section for your topic as well. Magazines cost lots of money to run if someone is spending lots of money to print a magazine and they have lots of readers spending money, thats a good indicator that the market is good.
Also check out places like http://clickbank.com go to the marketplace and see what products are being sold related to your topic.
Hope that helps you out.

I’m interested in starting a staffing company and would like to fill a niche in a market for employment. Everyone does finance or administrative. What is one that you haven’t seen or don’t see enough of? If you’re unemployed and in a niche market, what is it?
Going into tax season, I’d do tax preparers. I’d find a way to tier my workers (CPA’s on top, EA’s in the middle, and experienced non-certifieds at the bottom). I’d also group them by experience (either individual, payroll or business depending on what they’ve done).
Everyone needs their taxes done, so you have a good chance at high volume for 4 months to get you going.
I have an idea for a type of insurance that is currently not available… Can anyone give me a basic rundown of how to create, start selling a new product?
Well, first you figure out the claims costs. You’ll need actuaries for that – how many clients, how to rate the risks, and expected/projected losses. You use that info to calculate rates. Then, if you’re planning on selling this yourself, for your own company, you have to get millions of dollars to pay future claims, and put them off to the side, before you can start selling.
Then, you can bring your financials, along with the sample policy form, and rates, to your state insurance commissioner. First they’ll review the financials, then look at the loss calculations from the actuaries, then they’ll look at the sample policy forms for legal compliance. At any of these steps they can shoot you down.
Most of the time, when people tell me they have a great product idea that’s not currently available, it’s actually not available because you can’t charge enough to cover the risk. Private unemployment coverage, loss of a job insurance that pays your mortgage, cosmetic surgery coverage, that kinda stuff. Stuff people wish was out there, but don’t realize, you can’t make money off of it.
Niche markets tend to be walled in by their suppliers _and_ consumers, be it someone else or themselves (like a woodworking artist selling his own work, for example). The idea is to grab more consumers, so having prices change quickly is considerably more scary for niche. Also, mass markets carry large weight in demand control, not to mention advertising power as a part of that. The only way you can flip the coin here is to have something extremely valuable or rare in the market. Since the market is already niche, that’s hard to do.
Then there’s the simple "repeat customer" thing. The clientele doesn’t change much. Same bar, same restaurant, same people, same furniture, same fancy thing on the wall.
Mass markets are sort of top-heavy, on the other hand, like an inverted pendulum.
That is just a guess.
I’m looking for website sources on how to take over an already existing niche. If you have any evidence to your answer that would be great. I do not need examples (although using an example to explain yourself will come in handy).
Hahaha well if this racist is done posting that would be great.
I just basically need a good source to explain how totake over a niche market.
Hahaha just becaue one time someonstole your homework doesn’t meen you shoud take it out on other people. Your VERY immature.
I would simply recommend positioning yourself to be the authority in the niche.
1. Determine how big your focus is: the neighborhood? the city? the region? worldwide?
2. Research your competitiors. What are they doing right? What could they be doing better? Talk to niche leaders who are outside of your target area, and see if they will answer some of your questions.
3. Write a business plan outlining the process you plan to use to make yourself the top of the game. What is your competitive advantage?
4. Take your business plan to mentors. A good place to start is SCORE.org.
How do "you" find popular niches?? Please don’t say my hobbies because I’m in it for the $$$$.. I want to slap up about 10 sites and monetize each one but don’t know how to find the sites to slap up….I have everything beyond that down to a science but i seem to lack the skills to locate those niches….any help would be awesome..
Here is an advice program that is related to what you are asking about, ie. can easily be applied to the effort of attempting to exploit niches:

I am interested in the niche market as it relates to small websites. Not garbage sites with no real information, but small sites I could create and maintain in my spare time with honest content. How would I find the right niche? Is it mostly trial and error?
Weldon,
Try this site, it is free and has a bunch of different videos and tutorials.
